The Hammond Garden Club presented the September Link Award to Hood Hyundai at 318 N. Morrison Blvd.
The dealership recently renovated their building and landscaping.
In the link between businesses and the garden club, landscaping is important, said club member Linda Ross.
Plantings at Hood Hyundai are California privet, leather-leaf chamaedaphne, creeping juniper, variegated flax lily and periwinkle.
In a twist for the garden club, manager Scott Navarra researched and identified the shrubs the garden club members could not name.
When asked if he wanted to join the club, he said, “Thanks, but I’m good.”
Owner Betsy Hood said her father is a plant person and wanted the landscaping.
