The Hammond Garden Club awarded the November Garden of the Month to Buck and Kay Maurin at 504 N. General Pershing, Hammond.
The Maurins have a beautiful two-story home near the university with balconies that overlook a beautiful manicured and landscaped yard.
Buck gives all the credit to Kay for the landscaping, but it is evident that both take pride on their yard.
The first thing one notices is the beautiful Pink Sunpatiests that send a burst of color across the lawn (although Buck thinks they look more purple than pink).
In addition, viewers will notice the Oak Leaf Holly, Japanese “Jane” Magnolia and a Shishi Gashira Camelia dotting the landscape as well as Japanses Boxwood, Blue Agapanthus and Sweet Olive.
The home and yard are a beautiful addition to the neighborhood as well as Hammond. landscapes like this make Hammond a beautiful place to live.
