Dr. Frank and Maryanne Henchy are the July recipients of the Hammond Garden Club Garden of the Month.
Ms. Maryanne gives all the credit for their beautiful landscape to her husband. Dr Frank grew up with acreage and helped his parents with over 100 varieties of camellias.
The lush landscaping frames their home beautifully, with Mexican petunias, drift roses, gingers of different varieties, said Mona Crapanzano of Hammond Garden Club.
Distylium, given to Dr. Frank from his friend Paul Murphy, surrounds the side of the home, with holly and magnolia trees appointed to various areas.
The front courtyard is covered with a plethora of zinnia of different colors along with confederate jasmin. Japanese yews stand guard on the side of the home.
Dr. Frank also planted a butterfly garden with butterfly shrubs and five o’clocks and agapanthus.
